Details

Pictured is a flat back 3/4 size double bass. I purchased it 5 years ago from Kolstien's in NY, at which time I was told that it was from the 1920's or 30's and had recently been restored. They did not know much about its history; however, they said it had been restored recently and it looks nearly new.

A local bassist has a couple basses made by a modern luthier, Gyorgi Baranyi. This bass resembles those basses quite closely - that may be a more likely origin of this bass.

This is a really great instrument. It plays nicely and it sounds great for jazz and solo/chamber work.

The bass is located in Lincoln, NE.
